Lagano ("we", "us") is building a calmer way to meet people, starting in London. This policy explains what we collect when you join our waitlist and how we look after it. We keep data to a minimum and never sell it.
1. Who we are
Lagano is the data controller for the personal information described here. You can reach us any time at hello@joinlagano.com.
2. What we collect
When you join the waitlist we collect your email address, the city you are interested in, and your preferred language. If you use our on-page tools, we may also store optional signals such as your personality-quiz result or how many times you tried the Conversation Coach.
If a friend invites you, we record the referral code that brought you here and your position in line. We do not ask for your name, phone number, photos, or payment details to join the waitlist.
3. How we use your information
We use this information to save your place on the waitlist, send you a welcome email and occasional updates about Lagano launching in your city, understand which cities have the most demand so we know where to launch next, and run our referral programme.
4. Legal basis
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on your consent (which you give by joining the waitlist) and our legitimate interest in launching and improving Lagano. You can withdraw consent at any time (see "Your rights").
5. Email and marketing
Our welcome and update emails are sent through Resend. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can opt out at any time by emailing us.
6. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run the waitlist — currently our email provider (Resend) and our hosting and database infrastructure. These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.
7. Where your data is stored
Your data is stored on secure servers. Some providers may process data outside the UK or EEA; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist details until Lagano launches in your city and for a reasonable period afterwards, or until you ask us to delete them — whichever comes first.
9. Cookies and local storage
We use minimal cookies and your browser’s local storage to remember your language preference and your referral code (so we can show your progress when you return). We do not use advertising trackers.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email hello@joinlagano.com and we will respond promptly. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
11. Children
Lagano is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Lagano grows. We will post the new version here and update the date above.
